Chi Zeta Theta Sorority, Inc. is a multi-cultural, non-collegiate sisterhood with the purpose of uplifting
encouraging and empowering the plus size woman. We embrace all women of all shapes and sizes and
encourage them to not only be sisterly to one another, but to promote service in our communities as well. Chi
Zeta Theta is the first Greek-Lettered organization to focus on issues affecting the woman of size, but we also
focus on issues that affect women as a whole. As a sisterhood, we strive to strengthen grace and beauty within
plus size women and promoting excellence within one another as well the plus size adolescents.
OUR HISTORY
Chi Zeta Theta Sorority was founded August 11, 2005 by Janelle Myers with the vision of representing the plus
size woman in a positive light. She felt a need to dismantle the negative stereotypes of the plus size woman by
forming an everlasting sisterhood where its members would exude beauty as well as strength. March 11, 2006
marked the day that nine women were inducted as co-founders due to their love and understanding of the
sorority vision. Through trials, triumphs and hard work, co- founders Danielle Johnson, Estrelia Mateo , Makeisha
Williams, Enid Hiers, Ethiopia Grant, Rosemary Austin, Monica Brown, Tamara Attz and Jennifer Zambrano came
together with Janelle's vision to ensure the success of the sisterhood. Together, they worked tirelessly to give all
women who strive for excellence and equality an opportunity to be a part of a non-collegiate Greek
sisterhood.
OUR VISION
As a sisterhood, we strive to strengthen grace and beauty within plus size women and promoting excellence
within one another as well the plus size adolescents.
OUR PEARL PRINCIPLES
As we unite to bring joy in our communities, we form an everlasting bond that will keep us strong through the
difficult times we face within our society.
As we promote the equality of beauty within plus size women, we also appreciate the beauty in one another
and our variety of cultures and background.
We believe all women of plus size should obtain a level of confidence and embrace their beauty of mind,
body and soul. Through these values, we stay true and abide by....
